Buidling Schools
Education Project
Knowledge is power, and without proper education, the dream of national prosperity cannot become a reality. Education opens the door of opportunities in every field of life and is one of the most precious gifts we can offer to the next generation. At school, students bring their minds and imagination to life and empower themselves for an independent, opportunity-filled future. Poverty is closely linked to illiteracy as both a cause and a consequence. Unfortunately, the state of education in Pakistan is not encouraging and requires the active involvement of the non-governmental sector to improve it.
Today, Jamiat Sanabil-ul-Khair presents suggestions for improving the current education system of Pakistan for a better future, keeping in view Article 25-A of the Constitution of Pakistan which states: “The state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such a manner as may be determined by law.”
However, the reality is that the condition of government schools and colleges is far worse compared to the private sector. This gap exists mainly due to differences in syllabus, teaching methods, and learning environments. As a society, we have created double standards for different classes—lower, middle, and upper—because lower-income families cannot afford the high fees of private institutions.
Jamiat Sanabil-ul-Khair aims to establish more educational institutions across Pakistan to create hope for a brighter future. At present, we have constructed over 50 educational institutions delivering quality education, and we also sponsor their operational costs to cover deficits. This area needs even more support, and we continue working with our limited budget. Our valued donors are requested to pay greater attention to this important cause.
The following schools are successfully running in different areas of Pakistan: Jamia Tanveer Ul Quran, Lahore; Superior School, Chichawatni; Jamia Dar-e-Arqam for Boys, Adda Gujiani; Jamia Dar-e-Arqam for Girls, Adda Gujiani; Khansa Academy for Girls, Lahore; Ali Grammar School, Chichawatni; Markaz Ibne Abbas, Mandi Bahuddin; Markaz Islami, Mandi Bahauddin; Markaz Islam, Chichawatani; Markaz Taqwa, Kasur; Markaz Ameen Haleem, Thala Khurd, Narowal; Markaz Islami, Sheikhupura; Leads College for Girls, Gujranwala; another Leads College for Girls, Gujranwala; Madrasa Tafheem-ul-Quran, Bahawal Nagar; Islamia Model High School for Boys, Lahore; Islamia Model High School for Girls, Lahore; and Islamic Refahi Public Model School, Bahawal Nagar.
Around 7,000 children are receiving quality education in these institutions, where Islamic and contemporary education are provided together with special emphasis on character-building and personality development. JSK not only sponsors construction (fully or partially) but also supports equipment, staff salaries, food, and kitchen utensils. We provide access to educational and vocational training that opens employment opportunities and reduces the risk of exploitation. Children are engaged in curricular and extracurricular activities to decrease school dropout rates, and through parent–teacher meetings, we ensure full enrollment, with special encouragement toward girls’ education.
Our Technical College has been operating since 2014, where students receive quality education from professional staff. The college covers a total land area of 2 acres with a covered area of approximately 30,000 square feet.
Islamic Education Circles are also established in various parts of the country, and the Masajid Maktab Scheme is currently in the planning phase and will soon be launched with the support of our partner organizations.**)
